These photographs show SVR Junior Members Club on Saturday afternoon 17th April helping to clear soil from Kidderminster turntable pit. The juniors had been given a conducted tour of the Carriage Works by paintshop Supervisor (and SVR RST Chairman) Hugh McQuade, in return for which these 12 lads and 3 adult supervisors carried out some work for the Trust.
During March and April much of the weed infested spoil has been loaded by Brian Bessey using a hired-in mini digger, into “RUDD” wagons and tripped up the line for use by the P-Way Dept. Some of the remaining spoil is being retained locally for use by Mick Osborne’s gang for levelling up the extended sleeping car siding.
