About The SVR Rolling Stock Trust
The SVR Rolling Stock Trust was set up in 2002 with two principal intentions in mind:
- to protect our locomotives, carriages and wagons and protect the long term future of rolling stock based on the Severn Valley Railway
- to provide education and training so that the skills involved in building, operating and maintaining historic rolling stock are not lost
All this costs money, and one of the advantages of the Trust is that we are a registered charity, thereby benefitting from Gift Aid. If you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim back from the government a sum equivalent to 28% of your donations, at no cost to you.
We are helping to protect a number of locomotives and coaches which are out of service, through provision of 12 large tarpaulin covers.
