SVR Rolling Stock Trust

Welcome to the website of the SVR Rolling Stock Trust, a registered charity, set up by the SVR family in 2002 to help ensure the long term future of rolling stock based on the Severn Valley Railway.

The Trust’s aims:

  • Help finance the restoration, preservation and operation of locomotives, carriages and wagons owned by the Trust
  • Help to establish buildings to house and preserve the SVR rolling stock collection
  • Help to finance safe public access to the SVR collection
  • Help provide education and skills training to ensure the long-term maintenance and operation of the SVR collection
  • Help protect the SVR collection through ownership by the Trust, if and where necessary
  • Work with the SVR organisation to achieve all the above

Our vehicles

Our ownership now comprises one loco - GWR 4-6-0 No 7819 Hinton Manor, and fourteen carriages: LMS vehicles 2300 and 12992, both corridor thirds; 7511, an Open First; 24617, a corridor composite plus 6-wheeled brake No 2886. From the BR era we own Tourist Second Opens 4399, 4509 and 4690 (owned 50/50 by RST & SVRA Wolverhampton Branch); Brake Second Open 9220; Corridor Composite 16267; Corridor Second 25346 and 25498; plus one Brake Second Corridor No 35219.
